Catania's Fields of Dreams

The Elephant is a nomadic animal and so are the Elefanti. We practice at three different sites and play our games at a fourth.

In today's pictures, the pristine field (top right) is Stadio Santa Maria Goretti, our game field. It is in tremendous shape indeed!

The small Astroturf field (bottom right) at the University of Catania is used for our 8:00 p.m., 90 minute practice on Wednesdays (WRs/DBs/QBs only) and Thursdays (OLs/DL's/QBs/LBs/RBs only).

The dirt field (bottom left) with soccer (calcio) players on it is used on Monday nights again at 8:00 p.m. for 90 minutes with the entire roster present, in theory.

Finally, the dirt/grass field with nobody on it (top left) is used for our 3:00 p.m., three hour Saturday practice again, in a perfect world, with the whole roster. Our players from Palermo can only get to these Saturday practices because of the four hour round trip drive.

Hopefully the constant change of scenery will help eliminate some of the boredom that practices can bring as the season wears on.
