EuroBall Adventure X*

Friday, August 4, 2017:

I say EuroBall Adventure X with an * because although we are all working with a European all-star team, the Europe Warriors, the game itself next Saturday will be played in . . .

 . . . Mexico City

Smooth flight

The drive to LAX was easy as was check-in and security.

The four hour flight from LAX to Mexico City was also smooth and problem free.

 Approaching the Mexican
capital city

 Mexico City is HUGE

According to Google, Mexico City has a population 0f 21,321,000 souls!

TWENTY-ONE-MILLION-THREE-HUNDRED-TWENTY-ONE-THOUSAND PEOPLE.

YIKES!

I MADE IT!

Passport control was easy at this end and I was met by Eduardo Vega, the Warriors' videographer and his girlfriend Veronica.

Since it was a one hour drive back to the hotel from the airport, we decided to wait for two more coaches, Mike Wood and Dale Widolff, to arrive.

Mike arrived about 90 minutes after I did but Dale wouldn't land for another two hours after Mike.

What to do?

Dinner of course after Mike arrived at a Mexican restaurant in the airport.

It was MUY BUENO!

We finally left the airport about four hours after I touched down and entered the Destruction Derby that is Friday night traffic in Mexico City.

Gracias a Dios por GPS!

One small hitch is that we went to the wrong hotel for check-in.

No problemo, we're in Mexico, just relax and watch life go by.

We got to the correct hotel, the beautiful Radisson Paraiso Hotel, ten minutes later.

We met with the Head Coach Jesús Sanchez and the other coaches for a second MUY BUENO dinner in the hotel and had a good football bull session during and afterward dinner until the wee hours of the morning.

Good times indeed, I think that this is going to be a GREAT week for American football!

In Mexico, isn't "a Mexican restaurant" just "a restaurant"?
